Office Staples
Staples are a piece of thin wire that is precision made to an exact size to fit the stapling machine for which it is made. The wire is made into a U shape with right angled corners which will be driven through paper to hold it together, securly fastening it.
Staples are measured by the guage of the wire (thickness) and the length of the leg of the staple. So for instance a 24/6 staple means that it has been manufactured using a 24 guage wire and has a 6mm length leg. Obviously the thicker the wire the more heavy duty it is and the longer the leg the more paper you will be able to secure together - providing these fit your stapler of course!
